IC Optix® is a privately held company owned by Jim Rittenburg and Lorna Rittenburg.
Jim received a B.S. degree in Microbiology, an M.S. degree in Animal and Veterinary Sciences, a Ph.D. in microbiology and is an experienced technologist and business development executive with global experience. He is an inventor on 11 patents with a successful track record of developing and commercializing products based on advanced technologies. Past technical work has involved development and productization of highly sensitive and specific immunoassay based analytical methods for detection of food additives and contaminants, mycotoxins, priority pollutants, plant pathogens, and chemical markers used for product protection and anti-counterfeiting applications. Jim’s business development experience has encompassed commercialization and implementation of global brand protection programs and negotiation of commercial contracts with Global 500 healthcare and life science companies in the US, Europe, India, and China.
Other interests that keep life interesting and exciting include astronomy, fly fishing, sailing, hiking and camping, brewing beer, wine, and other high octane beverages and taking family adventures to remote parts of the world. (Full Bio)
Lorna received a B.S. degree in Marine Biology from Bangor University, Wales and an M.S. degree in Animal and Veterinary Sciences from the University of Maine. Lorna founded Animal Farm Services, a business which provides animal care for both large and small animals. Through her business she also spent many years managing equestrian events for a local equestrian center and county Park. Lorna also runs a property management business, coordinating maintenance and renovations across multiple properties. Lorna brings savvy business and customer service skills as well as a creative spark to IC Optix.
In addition to their work lives, Lorna and Jim also devoted much of their time to raising three amazing children, Tom, Becky, and Angus, who have all now left the launch pad and are making their own dent in the world.
